On 16 May 2012, my first solo album was released on Der kleine grüne Würfel, a netaudio label based in Cologne, Germany. It is called “I had to let God be in control of ALL things” and may be filed somewhere between Kraut, Post and sometimes even Noise rock, although it also has kind of a lo-fi electronica and acoustic touch – plus nice pop melodies. You may read some articles on what other people think about my music in the “media” section of this blog.

The release is available as digital album and limited CD-R with handmade cover, licenced under CC-BY-NC. You may listen to the album via soundcloud or download it here for free.

A few years ago, Bernd Wilberg and myself have released an album under the moniker Schmitz & Niebuhr on the same label. Here’s ‘Plukatan’, a track feat. Michael Cramm (Singer and multi-instrumentalist with Cologne, Germany based bands/projects Poto & Cabengo and Van Zoyd):

Furthermore, there were some appearances on compilations, such as this one. In the past I played bass guitar in an indierock band called Krank (no, not these guys here) and some other indie bands.

From 1998 to 2004 I was one of three hosts/producers of a radio show called ‘bontje’. It was an independent radio programme broadcasted by FLOK, 107.1 MHz, Cologne, Germany and via streaming audio on the web. A total of 70 programmes was produced. You may find a list with all programmes and a lot of playlists here.
